Pool Coping

Coping is the caps that surround the edge of the swimming pool, and it is installed after the pool finish and pool tiles are in place. Coping can come in a variety of different forms that all provide a different aesthetic to your pool remodel. We install precast concrete coping, natural stone coping, and poured in place coping. If you are living in or near Indianapolis, Indiana we can help you install and source the right coping solution for your pool.

Precast concrete coping

Coping is the caps that surround the edge of the swimming pool, and it is installed after the pool finish and pool tiles are in place. Precast concrete coping is a custom order. Our master craftsman will measure and source the needed precast coping that will contour your pool. Once it arrives, we install the precast coping by mortaring it to the bond beam.

Our customers typically love precast coping because it comes in a wide variety of colors, textures, and edges. Most homeowners either like to blend the color of the coping with the decking or choose a unique color from the decking to make the coping stand out. When choosing the texture of your coping you have the options of choosing a salt finish, a sand blast finish or a finished slate finish. To top it off, the edges can be bull nosed or mesa edged to add a nice decorative touch.

Natural Stone Coping

Natural stone coping is another beautiful option for the contour of your pool. If you are choosing a PebbleTec pool finish, a natural stone, like limestone, quartzite, sandstone, or travertine will pair well with PebbleTec's earthy colors. Natural stone coping has a non-slip surface, which is wonderful for families that are frequently enjoying their spa or pool.

When choosing the texture of your coping you have the options of choosing a salt finish, a sand blast finish or a finished slate finish. To top it off, the edges can be bull nosed, rock edged, safety edged, or mesa edged to add a nice decorative touch. Each edging has a different aesthetic, and if you look at the picture above, that is a rock faced edge, while the picture of natural stone coping below is a bull nosed edging.

Poured in place coping

Poured in place coping is a close relative to precast coping. Poured in place coping is exactly how it sounds. Instead of individual pieces of coping, it is poured into the molds along the edge of the pool. It's available in washed, broomed, and stamped finishes, and comes in colors similar to precast coping. A common form of poured in place coping we like to use is sand matrix coping, as it gives a nice modern look and clean grey finish.
